People often ask an organizer where they see themselves in the future, or what new achievements they dream of. While big dreams are inspiring, must they always mean creating something entirely new or conquering fresh frontiers? Isn’t repeating something beautiful an achievement in itself? Isn’t consistency just as valuable?
New discoveries are undoubtedly thrilling. Yet it would be unfair to overlook the joy of returning to experiences that have proven meaningful. Some things are simply too precious to be encountered only once. There is a unique satisfaction in revisiting what has touched us deeply — a pleasure that cannot be replaced by novelty alone.
Now in its 7th edition, Show of Hands embraces this very idea. The quiet excitement of sustaining the festival year after year, modestly and attentively, just as it is, brings a sense of fulfillment that requires no grand spectacle to justify itself. That continuity, in itself, is an achievement worth celebrating.
The Show of Hands Improvised Music Festival will take place from April 15 to 18, bringing together artists and experts from nine different countries. Across four intensive days, the festival will present eight solo and duo improvisation concerts, alongside three discussion panels, five workshops and one film screening.
You are warmly invited to join us.
