“First” and “Second” are the scariest phrases for a periodical event. Once you start something new, there are definitely numerous issues you have to worry about. Are you meeting the goals and objectives you have set? Do you reach what you have boldly claimed? Have you forecasted everything adequately? Have you foreseen all possible obstacles which may affect your event? And dozens of such doubts which you have to carry till the very last moment with cold feet. What a relief though after the final note hit the instrument.
But stop! Don’t celebrate so soon. The story isn’t over yet! There is another monster waiting for you called “Second”! Now you have to prove that: If everything went as planned; if your audience awarded you with good vibes and applause; if all events were punctual; if the sound was acceptable; if your crew acted appropriate; if the musicians felt satisfied, … on the “First” edition, it wasn’t just an achievement by chance or luck.
Last year and on the final concert we hosted a special guest with an instrument out of the main theme which somehow unfolded the concept of the second edition: Pluck and String Instruments.
This tradition we wish to keep, so on our final night this year we shall enjoy the performance of another secret guest playing along with some selected artists heralding the theme of the “Third” Show of Hands.
In addition to the main concerts, workshops and film screenings we decided to add two new sections namely “Warmup Performances” and “Speed Dating” sessions.
Every evening a young talented musician shall open the concert night by performing solo for ten minutes. And throughout the day, the participating musicians will show up at the Festival Pavilion and music lovers will have the opportunity to have a short private meeting session with their desired artist.
So here we are! Launching the “Second”. Worried and frightened but also confident as we have your support for which we are deeply grateful for.
