Wolfert Brederode
Music always touches me most when it is both open and urgent at the same time, regardless of style or instrumentation. In my composing and playing I also strive to obtain a balance between clarity and suggestion so there will always be room for the listener, including myself, to reflect or drift off in one’s mind. In order to transcend beyond specific notes or harmonies and get to the core of music, I like to regard the piano more as a vehicle for transferring certain moods, colors and sounds, rather than as a singular instrument.
