From my point of view, improvising is more than just playing music, it is a way of life, a spirit, a state of mind. This special “Alpha state” of mind that I try to obtain and maintain while performing is essential, it is kind of “Meditative state”, an urge of being into the present and connected to what’s happening right now.

Inspiration comes from many directions, mainly from two facets. The first is the “Nourishment” from the roots, the masters, the hours of practice, life, people and art in general… and in the particular case of a solo concert, the second aspect takes place in the present moment with the audience and the atmosphere involved. While performing I always try to make a connection with the listeners and I like to feel this energy flowing between us when it happens.
