For me, music has always been associated with improvisation. It is, when playing and following the musical flow that I feel most present and alive. Playing music together can be compared to a conversation between people; you speak a language that has words and grammar but what you say is characterized by the moment, the context and your personality and background. Thus, presence in the moment and communication are central aspects where several channels must be open at the same time; towards the outer space of fellow musicians, audience, acoustics and towards the inner space of sound, body and mind. And in the flow between these spaces, the breath of sounding music!
I often collaborate with artists from other art forms and cultures where I find there is curiosity, intense listening and sometimes resistance which can create unexpected artistic synergies. Windows towards new horizons are opened every day and through music I keep develop as a human being.
